The tools needed to teach a controls class usually cost thousands of dollars. The companies that supply these devices have proprietary hardware that can be used with their proprietary software, or with MATLAB and Simulink, to teach control systems. We propose that the same teaching tools can be built to interface with MATLAB and Simulink for a fraction of the cost and can be designed to be more effective in teaching than the already available instruments.
We are students who study Electrical Engineering at San Diego State University . We came up with our project Educational Control System as our Senior design under the supervision of Dr.Seshagiri.
